The 'CDM Coordinator' or 'CDM-C' role came in to being on 6th April 2007 under the new CDM Regulations. This replaces and enhances the old role of 'Planning Supervisor'.
At BSA, we use our construction expertise to add value from the outset of all projects expected to be over 30 days or 500 man days in the construction phase. The new CDM regs focus on competency and as a specialist practice, we not only deliver insight and suggest solutions but through experience of hundreds of jobs per year, we do this quickly and cost effectively too.
In addition to the CDM Coordinator role, we can make site visits during construction phase to monitor practice against plans.
[See Reference > Why CDM Coordinators are needed].
Health and safety in both construction and the foreseeable use of a building MUST be a design consideration under the CDM regs. Appoint a CDM Coordinator to help build in Health & Safety from the start of design work in order to lower the cost of design enhancements.
Injuries occur in similar situations year after year and the experienced CDM is able to identify key areas of likely risk.
Practices which enhance health & safety can also be cost saving and reduce time on site.
You may also be required to make a presentation to the HSE on the subject of CDM Compliance. Failure to satisfy the HSE at this stage can result in projects being delayed or halted. When appointed as CDM Coordinator, BSA can help coordinate your responses. We offer seminars which help you manage this risk.
BSA aims to contribute in a positive and proactive manner not just fill in forms.
